Designed by the famous architect, Charles P.H. Gilbert, and completed in 1908, the mansion has been home to the Museum since 1947.

The YIVO Institute
Now Vilnius, Lithuania, the YIVO institute left Vilna, Poland in 1925 for America. Focused on the history of Ashkenazi Jewry, and its influence in the Americas. In addition, the museum now offers a dedicated area on history and culture of the Sephardim.
